Intake and tune first.
The gears don't make a difference when accelerating from a 60mph roll. They don't give you any more "power".
4.10's make an incredible difference when starting from a stop or accelerating from a low-speed roll.

CAI w/programmer hands down!! Followed very closely by gears by the way.
OP it also all depends what your end goal is. For example I purposely bought my car with 3.55's as I knew I was going forced induction (roots type). So for my set-up, 3.55's is perefect. Just something to thik about.......

You'll need the handheld to adjust the speedometer if you get gears so the CAI & tune first, IMO. The combo adds power and improves driveability; gears do not add power.
Do you mean that you drive 60-70 "miles" per day? Regardless, going from your stock gears (do you know if you have 3.31's or 3.55's? I believe 3.31's were pretty much standard on the '05 and '06?) to 3.73's or 4.10's will impact your fuel mileage, especially running at highway speeds. Assuming you go from 3.31 to 4.10 and you drive highway, I'd expect about a 3-5 MPG loss, possibly more.

It all starts with the cai/tune my man.
Long term hp goals and driving habits must be taken into consideration for
proper gear selection. Take some time to think about that before you pull the trigger on gears.
Go with a choice from brenspeed or am (bama) for your cai/tuner package.

Hmmmm, guess I should have asked that also, Mayo. I'm slipping in my old age.
OP, what ARE your goals for modding and how do you drive (i.e., track, motorx, city, highway)?

As others have said, CAI & tuner.
2005's came with 3.55's....rule of thumb when switching gears is to go up 2, which would mean going with 4.10's.....from there, people definitely have different opinions about 4.10's. Me personally, I think they're too much.

I bought my car deliberitely with 3.55's from the factory because my "master" plan was to add a roots type blower, which I did. So I did keep the 3.55's & the combo works great for the street & occasional track run. My car IS a 5sp.

A forget the 07-09 years completely, but I'm pretty sure 2005 and 2006 v6 were 3.31, GT automatics were 3.31, and GT manuals were 3.55 with an option of 3.73.
