What tires should I get?

255/40 is slightly shorter than 275/40, so yes, it would let you lower the car a little more, and it will have a more rounded edge since it's smaller, which could let you tuck the car, potentially, and go even lower. there are so many other factors to consider though (like offset, if you're willing to roll/pull fenders etc). really depends on how important being super low is to you, I wish that trend would just die a painful death, though.
yeah, your tuner can adjust for tire size for the speedo. from a performance stand point, you're also changing your gearing - sticking around 27" is a good rule of thumb.

I'm not wanting to slam to the point of rolling. That's a bit excessive.
Just eliminating all the wheel gap, maybe a LITTLE bit of tuck.
I still have to be able to drive the car. Lol.
40 sounds a bit better in this case then.
What would you say to a 255/40 then 275/40 stagger?

you could probably achieve a better looking stance with that - it would appear slightly raked, and you could lower the front slightly more than the rear, not by a terrible amount.
it would work, I just wouldn't give up the ability to rotate my tires when I had the same size wheel all the way around. you really get a lot more life out of your tires and you get to wear them out more evenly
note that not every sidewall that is 40 correlates to 27" - 255 is somewhere around perfect to 27" and 275 is more around 27.6" IIRC. wider tires push the tire height up slightly, typically.
note that I am just one mans opinion and not an expert.

Hmm.
I think that's what I'll wind up doing then.
Now for brand.
There's not a lot near the 200$ mark for tires these sizes.
Any thoughts on Sumitomos? And anywhere I can get these cheaper than TireRack?

Don't cheap out on the tires. You're driving a live axle car with enough torque to quickly get yourself in trouble on wet roads, in cool weather, or even downshifting with too much throttle. Think about how much you spent on that thing and then ask yourself how much traction is worth to you. I dropped the cash for proven tires for piece of mind.

One of my friends ran sumitomo's and said they were very hard and didn't provide **** for traction, but lasted for a long time.
I love my Continental ExtremeContact DW. Very comfortable and quiet, but they have HELLACIOUS amounts of acceleration and braking traction. Sidewalls are slightly soft for hard cornering.
BFG KDW2's have great traction and the cornering grip is ridiculous. They are crazy loud and uncomfortable though.

When I had my 19's I ran a 275/35/19 and I was lowered on "K" springs. With a 275/35 your diameter is 26.6". The stock 255/40/19 is a 27" tire so it wont throw off the speed-o that much. Running a 275/40/19 is right at 28" (27.7"). IMO, that tire is a little to tall for my liking.

I've been shopping and this is what I have found:
Mickey Thompson Street Comps - 275/35R19, $233 at SummitRacing
Stock Brembo Pirelli P-Zeros - 255/40R19, $360 just about everywhere....EXCEPT at the dealership. I asked and they said they are $208 each, mount/balance is $65 for all four. That is one HECK of a deal!
If I remember correctly, the Nittos are in the $250/ea range and don't last as long as either the Mickey Thomspons or the Stock Pirelli's.
Just food for thought

This means that a 255/40 R18 will have a shorter overall diameter than a 275/40 R18
You do not want 255/40 R19 in the front and 275/45 R19 in the rear IMHO. Your front tires would be 27 inches tall and your rear tires would be 28.8 inches. That would be almost a two inch differance.
I currently have 255/45 R18 in the front (27 inches tall) and 275/40 R18 in the rear (26.8 inches tall). I like this set up, and will probably get again.
275/45 R19 is also a slightly uncommon size, though they do exist
I hope this helped
