Default check engine light still on

so i went from going not cats on my mustang to putting the JBA shorty H-pipe with the the outlaw flowmasters. i thought that by putting the cats back on the light would shut off but it hasnt! and i know its the O2 sensor code because i had it checked out at autozone. is there a solution to this? do i have to retune the car?

Did you clear the code? What was the code #. The light isn't going to magically shut off, well it will eventually, but it could take some time.

You don't have a tuner? If you have a tuner, then just clear the code with it.

You could try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes or get autozone to clear the code for you.

Once you drive enough miles w/ no code the light will clear its self.

Are you using the Flowmaster Outlaws in place of the cats?? If so, that's probably why you're still getting the code. I've heard even high-flow cats will still sometimes throw a code. I'm using non-foulers and just recently passed the emission portion of our state inspection without removing the H-pipe. I've attached pics of my setup, they're fuzzy but you get the idea.

I only had to remove the tune and drive the car for a couple weeks, then get the inspection.

Disconnecting the battery will clear the code for you alot quicker then driving it around for 100+ miles or so. If the code comes back, get the codes read again but this time write down the code number and post it up in this thread. There are a bunch of O2 sensor codes that all mean different things. It could be something as simple as a bad/fouled/damaged O2 sensor or damaged/broken/shorted O2 sensor wire.

Good luck...
