Get a K&N oil filter has a hex nut on it you can use a regular wrench on them. Cost a little more but worth it.

I have the same issues with my 94' Bronco and I switched to Fram. Fram makes one that has a rubber bottom cover that is like grip tape. Makes it easy to grab even if oily. I have the dealership do my oil changes in the 05' mustang so i am not sure if fram makes them for that application, but it is worth checking out.

The factory filter is always hard to get off. Get yourself a good filter wrench and in the future they won't be that bad.

Strange. I had no trouble getting mine off at all. I guess that in some cases someone at the assembly plant is paroid about them coming loose and they are over tightening them.

Fram filters should be avoided like the plague. I suggest either Motorcraft or Purolator Pure One. Great filters at a decent price.

I agree with the statement about Fram filters. Any of the above mentioned are good but you really should try the K&N filter you won't use nothing else after you try it very easy to get on and off.
