EDIT: nevermind on that 2005 gt, heavy accident reported. undercarriage damaged and had to be towed from the scene. i guess it was repainted to and sold only a week after the accident. so ill be staying away from that.

So question is 2001 cobra convertible vs the 2006 gt convertible.

If you're daily driving it, go with the '06. I own a '03 Mach (very similar to the Cobra) as well and I'd take the GT all day for a daily. The Cobra would be a fun vehicle though.

I own a 01 and a 05. The 05 gt is far more comfortable over my 01 cobra. The cobra is the fun weekend vehicle. Now if you are looking for just a fun toy, then my advice is to go for the 01. There are a ton of gt's around, but you don't see to many 01's. It's nice to be a little different.

yeah guys this would be a fun weekend toy. Already have an 03 gt coupe that i could swing around to get me around. I would keep the 2010gt and 2001 as a fun weekend car and take them up to shows.
Will be taking a little road trip tomorrow to look at the car and see if a little negotiating can be done

Make them install a new set of spark plugs before you buy it. I would tell them this would be a deal maker.

My 06 GT has been nothing but fun. I have beat on it at the track with 250+ runs and she's running as good as day one. Purchased in October 2009 with 15k miles for only $15.5.

If your not in a hurry you will find a great deal.
