That site shows several rear ends, but the average price is $1200. AM sells NEW for just a couple hundred more, and they have free shipping.

I am supprised you cant find any on CL.com. They always seem to have them for sale around me. But AM.com sells the whole thing brand new like others have said and you cant beat their great customer service, our MF discount, and free shipping.

Did you buy a rear end yet? There is one in Elkton, MD for $100 on CL...

I saw that you live in SW Va. I don't know if it would be worth the trip, but you can't beat the price! PM me, we might be able to work something out.

That won't work. You have to use a rear end from a 2005+. The one you posted is a 92 and uses a 4 link mounting system - the S197 uses a 3 link system, and I believe is wider.

Nice catch, I had no idea that there was so much difference in 8.8" rear ends. That's good info to know.

LOL, I just replaced my crappy 7.5 for the 8.8 this past weekend.
Got it used from a LKQ salvage yard. Paid $600 and it supposedly came out of a 70K mile car.
It's a 3.55 gear also.
You don't need to replace your drive shaft for the swap...
Jut buy the 03/04 Cobra pinion flange for less than $40 and it's a bolt on affair.
Part # is: DL3Z-4851-A
