Help, need opinion on dealer explanation for repair
Here is a very abbreviated version:
2012 Boss 302, clutch was acting up didn't feel right. Took it to the dealer Tuesday. Wednesday they said it is the master brake cylinder, explaining that the brakes and clutch work off of the same line and fluid. I don't know, so ok.
Got a call today that the part came in and they were putting it in but the clips that hold the master brake cylinder are not reusable and old ones are broken anyway. Need to order clips from Detroit, maybe Tuesday next week. Takin a while but still ok.
I am told car cannot be driven in its current condition (duh!!) So I previously asked them to bring my car inside at night and asked them again what they were going to do with it until next Tuesday.
Here is where it gets good (or bad??) I was told that "they JIMMY RIGGED IT so they can move it outside during the day and bring it in at night".
I was like WTF and was told again they jimmy rigged the brake and would be pushing it around not driving it.
I really like this dealership so I am not wanting to bash them. So here is my questions:
1. Does the clip thing with master cylinder make sense to anyone with experience?
2. What do you guys think of the whole JIMMY RIGGED explanation and can they be doing more damage to it by pushing it around in this condition?
Thanks

Can't say about the clip. As far as pushing the car goes, as long as nothing is damaged, no harm, no foul. The fact that they are pushing your car around in the lot may hit you the wrong way. I guarantee you they are not pushing more than they have too. I do like the fact that at least they give your car a locked up home at night. Now you know how Camaro owners feel.

The clutch has it's own master cylinder, which is fed fluid from brake master cylinder reservoir. If they are indeed replacing the brake master cylinder to fix a clutch problem, I'd take it to a different dealer.
