I know I'm paying with cash... every dealership I asked if they could negotiate the price they always say "price is firm" -_-

As for that particular car, keep looking. That price is WAY high and I think you could find something better. If you like that body style, keep your eyes peeled for 2011's and 2012's. They have the new V6 with more power, but same body style.
Yup, insurance may surprise you. I believe there was a recent article in a Car and Driver that showed that it was actually cheaper in some parts to insure a V8 Camaro over a V6. Granted it was a Camaro they were getting quotes for, I bet it may be the same for a 'stang.

Even if that 17k is in Canadian dollars (assuming it is) that is still extremely high. Blue book value puts that car between 12572 and 13572.

I would take a pass and find a better mustang or wait for the car you want when the price drops.

The last thing I would do is if you have that 15k in cash and you really want that car, ask to talk to the the dealership manager (not the finance manager!), show him 13500 in cash and say you can have this right now or otherwise I walk out the door. If you go to kbb.com you can print a screenshot of what that car is worth, not what they are asking. Keep the other 1500 in cash in your shoe. JUst make sure you park close so you dont get mugged if the deal falls through.

Stay away from the 2010's bad year. They are not bad cars, it's just that Ford Changed the body style (I don't like much), then they decided to drastically improve the performance of both V6 and V8 the next year. If I bought a 2010 when they first came out, I'd still be pissed. Go for 05-09 GT's or 2011 V6's IF 15-16k is your price range.

Not much more than that and you can be looking at 11+ v6's. You could also be looking at 05-10 GT's.

Don't worry about the insurance. Check and make sure about the price difference it's prolly the same and even if its a few dollars more its worth having a v8!! Don't try and save a few dollars a month to regret not going for the gt. in the 05-10 models the gas mileage is practically the same between the two! So average 2 mpg less and (maybe, if at all) a few dollars more a month in insurance, along with a better resale value. WORTH the V8 no brainier to me!!! And as far as the 10 your talking about now I think there are better deals out there.
