Default Need help identifying a part...

Found this small yellow rubber cap loose in the engine compartment, and couldn't find anything that looked like it was missing from... Any ideas?

5am is not the time to get a response right away.
Nor is 7am.
I have seen them. Its a production piece used
during assembly. It is discarded after the work is done.

I have found enough 'lost' fasteners to have plenty of spares.
If you drop one on the assembly line, its not customary to
go hunting for it, just get another from the parts bin and go on.
The nut hanging on the string inside the door was the best trick
in the 80s. Or the marble inside the floor support. Assembly line
work is boring. Gotta do something to spice it up.
I recently dynomatted the interior, doors and trunk area of the
09 Challenger and have a nice box of 'extra' pins, clips and fasteners
that were found upon disassembly of the interior trim panels.

As well as the sunflower seed shells someone was chewing on the line.
I got his DNA and if I can match it thru CODUS I will be mailing the shells
back to that good ol buddie with my own little suprize for him.

Haha that is awesome! , so what you're telling us is that line workers leave randomness inside our cars, so that owners like us who like to disassemble stuff scratch our heads? That would explain the pencil under my carpet when I was dynamatting my floor.... I always wondered how the hell the previous owner managed to get that there, but maybe he is not the one to blame......

Hey everyone, thanks for the input. Sorry, 157db, didn't mean to be rude, and I didn't think about the time of day I had posted. I've been on night shift, so it takes me away from the norm. Good to know that the piece didn't fall off of something important. I was thinking it was a drain plug or something and I would be splashing windshield washer fluid all over the engine or something. I hate finding unknown loose parts in things.
