Default Water In Quarter Panels?

Hello everyone. I have a 2007 Mustang GT convertible. Every time it rains, water builds up somewhere in the quarter panel area. I can hear it sloshing around. It eventually drains, but it gets annoying and if it's a hot, sunny day afterwards, the smell isn't too pleasant. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I'm assuming the rain is going between the top and the quarter panels and maybe the drain holes are stopped up. I thought about removing the inside panels and looking around, but I figured I would get your all's opinions first.

Yep. There's no sloshing while opening and closing the doors. It sounds like it's coming from the front area of the quarter panel.

Are those OEM side scoops with alignment pins and holes
or aftermarket stick ons?

Stuff the air exit vents in trunk area with rags.
1 each side just behind the side marker lights.
The TSB.pdf below gives instructions for the
plugging procedure.
Turn the blower on 100% with fresh air intake on.
Close up doors and windows tight.
Spray outside near effected area with soapy
water. Bubbles will appear with any air leaks.
Air leaks equals water leaks when it rains.

I have the same problem. Check under your rear seat. Loads of water! Then it stays in the foam and smells horrid.

They are OEM, but don't have pins and holes. From what I have read, the newer Mustangs don't have the pins and holes like the older ones. The one is missing on the other side of the car, no holes. I plan on taking the remaining one off. Also, that TSB is for the leak under the dash, which I had and fixed.

I have actually heard about water under the back seat. I haven't checked yet. I'm kind of afraid to! Lol.

take it to the stealership, or the mechanic pronto. sounds like the infamous water leak.

i had the infamous water leak and got it fixed by Ford. but the smell was never the same. Im sure i need to replace the carpet and padding. that scent never really goes away. I think Ford should pay for it, but i doubt they would.

The famous water leak tsb was for the front end water entrance, quarter panels are a different story. I'm not sure how the convertibles are constructed, but could it be entering from where the top attaches to the quarter panels?
