I assume you mean warranty - it isn't "insurance" and isn't done by the dealer.

Simple answer - if you modify something and then it breaks it isn't covered by warranty.

Ford warranties the car that Ford built, not the car that you build later. So if you change the computer for more performance, and that change causes the problem, then Ford won't warranty the problem because they didn't cause it.

If you change the mufflers and the transmission goes out, then your warranty on the transmission will still be good because the mufflers had nothing to do with the transmission.

If you change the radio and it goes out would you expect Ford to cover that radio? Obviously not, they didn't put that radio in the car. Same principle.

If you're worried about voiding a warranty; Ford or aftermarket; then you MIGHT be able to hang dingo ***** or fuzzy dice without getting too much diarrhea.

Do you want to enjoy your car or tiptoe in your panties until the warranty expires?

Now that we have **** warranty concerns put to bed...

First mod on the 4.6L should be a good CAI & custom tune. Brenspeed, Amaerican Muscle (BAMA), VMP all write very good tunes worth about 20-25 RWHP on the 4.6L. Are you planning on keeping it naturally aspirated or do you have plans to go with forced induction?

Who knew?...

The 5.0L responds to the CAI & tune equivalent to the 4.6L; RWHP increases of approximately 7-10%.
