Default How big a spare can I fit?

Just took delivery of my 2013 GT with Brembo brakes. This model comes with a "mobility package" or some such instead of a spare tire. I haven't tried it yet, but the spare tire well looks almost large enough to fit one of the 19" wheel with 255/40 tires in there. I thinking about buying an extra wheel and tire but I'm not sure if I can fit a full sized one in there. I'm guessing anything smaller than a 19" would have to go on the rear only due to the Brembos? Thanks!

You can fit a full size spare in there, but it will stick up past the well and lift up the liner/carpet.

a full size rim and tire will add about 60 lbs of weight, but alteast its in the rear and relatively low.

The floor liner in the trunk is a cardboard type of material, if you put anything heavy in the trunk with no spare it will probably bend it, mine has a hole poked in it from the jack support rod thing.

Personally i would probably just put in a normal spare size if anything.

and measure the diameter of the wheel well to be sure a full size will fit, i think stock brembo tires are 27 inch tall

Pull one of your wheels off and check its fitment.

Thanks for the replies. Maybe I'll do some shopping for a used spare, any good sources? I've purchased a cheap scissor jack and lug wrench to put in there as even without a spare, there should be some way to remove a wheel on the road somewhere. I also added a tire plug kit. I've had decent luck with these in the past and I might be able to avoid using the sealant Ford supplies that way. The manual says the TPMS sensor must be replaced after you use the sealer.
