Theres a mustang i always see driving in town and the running light LEDs in the headlight are green. has anyone changed the colour of their lights? is there a kit for it or do you have to dismantle the whole headlight and solder in new leds?

I believe that you are referring to the halo ring inside of the headlights? If so, there is a company called Oracle. This is the only company that I know about that makes these lights. One of my friends has them. They are great for shows or to match a particular color scheme that you have going on with your car. Here's a link:

I'm talking about the 2 bars that run on the outside of the projector. They are LEDs and they come on when you hit the unlock button.
I'm thinking the headlight has to be taken apart and new LEDs soldered into place.
I'll do some more research and let you guys know

WCG and AJ beat me to it, you gotta be careful where you go with colored lights. As for how you could do it one bar atop the headlight and one below I see three ways.
1. Get your choice of LED strips. Custom Dynamics is a company that makes BADASS LED strips if you have the scrap, otherwise Diode or Super Bright LED's have great options. If you want just one color that makes things a lot simpler. If you want to be able to change them you're going to have to install a controller (I think that's what they're called) and I don't know squat about that. You could cram them into a crevice on the headlight or secure them however you want to. Wiring is simple. On the back corners of your blinkers you'll see a little bulb, that's your parking light (as opposed to blinker bulb). That bulb has a connector with two wires leading from it, simply splice the positive and negative to those wires and they'll only come on when your parking light is on.
2. Same process, only instead you'd have to get a heat gun and spend a few hours scraping out the sealant around your headlights, glue them into the headlights, drill holes into your headlights for the wires to come out, and get silicone and seal it aaaaaall back up again. And if something were to go wrong, you'd have to do it all over again.
3. Go to a customs shop.
