Hey all
I would like to replace the bulbs on my headlights and my two fog lights. I have a gt500 front fascia. I don't want to but HIDs. Here's what makes it kinda hard. I want the brightest whitest light I can get. I need the headlights and fog lights to be the same brightness and preferably the same brand. What brand would u recommend? And where can I get them

What's their temperature in Kelvin? Any higher than 5000K and you begin to get that chit blue tint but anything much over 4000K and you also begin to LOSE usable light. Most OE halogen bilbs are about 3500K - 4000K these days. Also, if you match the color (temperature) of your fogs to your headlamps, it'll look pretty but you'll lose the benefit of fog light functionality when you need it in dark, wet/foggy conditions. I run 4000K headlamps and 2500K (yellow) fog lights.

 

your OEM halogen bulbs are fine. leave them alone.

 

silverstar would be my only aftermarket recommendation

 

My old ride I switched over to the Silverstars, made a pretty noticeable difference, but the stock halogens were old and likely close to failure. I think they lose some brightness over time.

 

i saw no difference when I put in silverstars. the lights were whiter but not brighter.

 

Silverstar Ultra's are my vote if you don't want to retrofit projector HIDs.

That's what is being recommended. SIlverstars are 4000K and the Silverstar Ultras are 4100K or 4200K; either one is whiter than the OE bulbs.

It appears that you don't understand the relationship to lamp temperature, visible color and usable light. I strongly suggest you do your homework before you waste your money.
