Default 2010 passive alarm

Hi, have a 2010 premium V6 conv. with the passive alarm only. The other day someone broke into the car. How I am not sure. Found the driver's window was about half way open, no obvious marks. I tried pushing down on it and couldn't budge it. Once inside, the trunk button of course was used and the trunk gone through. Nothing at all taken, guess they were looking for money, which I never keep in the car. I have three questions, one, any idea how someone managed to push down the window without damaging anything. Second, any suggestions on a motion sensor alarm to add? Can the trunk release be disabled? Thanks for any responses. Very much appreciated.

Regards, Terry.

My 2009 convertible came with a factory alarm. It senses someone in the car, or a change in air pressure, opening the trunk. etc. You should try locking the car, with the windows up and see if you have an anti-theft light flashing on the speedo. Make sure you lock it with the key-fob and not putting the key in the lock. Mine is so sensitive, I actually removed the security horn on the passenger side of the trunk behind the lining on the side panel because big trucks going by set it off. I had to put a switch on my main horn because of the sensitivity. I would think the reason yours didn't fire, window not all the way up, roof not fully latched, etc.

I had the active alarm added by ford in my 09 GT cost me about $300 installed which is pretty much what a good aftermarket would cost with install unless you did it yourself. Plus mine works with factory keys and fobs. I've installed a few after markets myself over the years and crawling under this dash didn't appeal to me plus you lose some functions with the after market deals and tend to be problematic on the coded keys cars like these the aftermarket units use an inline starter kill which can be finicky when the PCM tries to read the chip in the key. For the money check the ford accessories website for the active alarm.
