Question really stupid issue

hey guys its probably something that happens very commonly with many mustangs as the dealership had told me but in the passenger side kicker panel of my 2009 mustang theres a fuse box and right above the fuse box is a module that is made my tyco electronics. my mustang after having jump started a friend one time and doing it the wrong way some of the gauges on my instrument cluster stopped working like my fuel gauge. everything is digital in my car so it used to tell me how many miles I had left till empty and it doesn't do that anymore and the gauge doesn't work. it also tells me it has a DTE FLI DATA ERROR for the gas gauge, also my vehicle has a my color feature to change the colors of the gauges and speedometer and stuff. well that stopped working as well. and it tells me a lot of other things that are incorrect such as my parking brake being always on and things like that that are obviously incorrect. the most annoying and frustrating out of it all though is my stereo system stopped working completely. its like its getting no power but when I click the power button on it, it brings up the time but even that is wrong so yea. but when I click load as in load cd on it it brings up the load cd option but it wont play. now in reference to the first statement I made of tyco electronics part. I took it to the dealership and they said its that part I need to replace. they told me it wasn't responding. they want me to pay 836 dollars for another one and if I can find that part somewhere else and just replace myself it would save me a lot of money. please someone help, sorry for the long paragraph but thanks for the time.

If the part does not have to be new from Ford, I would get one from a salvage yard, install it and have it programmed if required. Do some research with the dealer concerning programming of the used box.

From a quick search, it appears that the tyco part is a harness plug into the smart junction box. Ford should be able to id the part in their books.

If it is a plug on the electrical harness, it would not be listed as a part....you would need the harness number. I do not think the tyco (simply a plastic cover on the wires) part is your issue.....I think it is the control module (computer) it plugs into. Pull the kick panel and you will see much more of what is there.

ive taken it apart and the part im talking about is an entire plug of its own. there isn't any wires going into it. a lot of people talk about it like saying it has a 2 pull lock on it. one on the left side of it that pulls all the way to the other side and they wonder how to get it off but none say the name of it. but yea there isn't any wires going to it. its an entire rectangular module plug. that's the module that the dealership told me was not responding and is probably the cause of all my electronics malfunctioning.
