Default Stereo randomly restarts

Hope some of you may have some thoughts on an issue I'm having with the stereo in my 2010 GT.

I've got the Shaker 500 Stereo with Nav in my 2010 GT Premium. When this issue first started, the Media button stopped working and I was no longer able to connect via Bluetooth. When I pressed the Media button nothing would happen. I thought it might be a Sync issue, but not long after that the whole system started going off and on randomly. It has been doing this for a while but has gotten progressively worse. Now it may happen up to 20x in a 5 minute drive. Interestingly, I can even turn the system off and it will start up on its own.

I have not noticed any other electrical issues. I did check the fuse connections and all seems fine there. My next step is to get a pry tool and start looking at the connections in dash. I'm hoping it's something simple like a loose connection and not the ACM needing replacement.

Appreciate any insight you can provide.

have it do a self-test and see if there are any DTCs. Hold preset buttons 3 and 6 until it starts the speaker walk-around, and while the speaker walk-around is in progress press preset button 2 or 3 (can't remember which) which will say "self-test." the next preset button should let you view any DTCs.

edit: Oh, you have navigation. What I said above applies if your car has the CID. It's a bit different with the nav system, but 3 and 6 will get you started. I haven't played with one for a while but I think once the walkaround starts a button shows up on the screen which will let you stop the test and dump you into a diagnostics screen. Go from there.

HushH,

This is definitely out of the ordinary. My recommendation is to take it into your dealership so they can pinpoint the cause of this issue.

Thanks for the responses.

jz78817, thanks for the info on how to get into diagnostics mode. I ran the self test and it passed but there were two existing DTC messages:

B1D1949: loss of DVD
U016200: lost communication with NAV display module.

I'll have to look into these a little further/

Kim, I will probably end up taking it to the dealership, but I haven't had that great of luck with service at my local dealer, so I was hoping to have as much info as possible before taking it into them.

I don't blame you, HushH. It never hurts to be prepared!
If you run into any trouble getting this resolved at your dealership, reach out to me and I'll see how I can help out.

Kim
