Default 2012 V6 Transmission/Differential

I been having this problem with my 2012 V6 and was wondering if anyone had the same, when I am slowing down from highway or any other speed as long as I am shifted into 2nd and above (I have an automatic by the way), when I get to the speed for the gear to shift from 2nd to 1st, the gear doesnt shift unless I hit the gas then it knocks into gear, I was wondering if anyone knew the problem or had the same and know what is going on. I'm thinking it's probably slack in the differential.

Most Automatics you will need to hit the gas to downshift into 1st, the one on my 2010 was the same as yours, it waited till almost coming to a complete stop before hitting 1st on its own.

Hi eleanordream,

You are always welcome to get it checked out at your Ford Dealer and speaking to your service manager about this. He is in the best position to ensure a proper diagnosis, and will be able to provide available options and/or coverage for any work needed.

You can schedule an appointment online here.
