Default MT- 82 Questions

Hey Gents,

Whats the gold standard short throw to pair with the MT-82???

Also, does adding a synthetic ATF still make a big difference? Adding Amsoil to my T-5 made a huge difference. How many quarts would I need?

can't speak to the shifter, but the MT82 does not take ATF. It uses the fluid for the dual-clutch transaxles, which is a 75W gear oil with a specific additive package.

Common knowledge seems to be the MGW for top shifter or Barton.

As mentioned above, the MGW is great.

Another great shifter is the Steeda Tri-Ax

Also, to greatly reduce or even eliminate being locked out of shifting to the next gear under WOT conditions, I strongly suggest you get a transmission mount insert for the MT82. The stock transmission mount is too soft and suffers considerable distortion such that shifting from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th, etc. at high RPMs is nearly impossible due to the torque of even the stock engine.

Whiteline makes such a bushing insert:

I've never heard bad of the MGW shifter. i was actually pricing it up last night. Make sure you get a good shifter bracket too.
Ill be ordering one soon. can't afford the short throw just yet.

If you go with the MGW it comes with it's own bracket.
