Default My new 2013 Mustang GT

Hey everyone, so I had a 2006 Mustang gt for about 8 months and I just got bored of driving an auto. All of my cars have been automatics, so a stick is pretty much new to me, I've only driven one once for about 5 minutes and that was like 4 years ago. Anyway, I ended up getting a 2013 Mustang GT today. It's a stick so I have been trying to learn all day today. I haven't stalled the car yet and I keep getting smoother and smoother. I think by the time the weekend is over I will be pretty comfortable in it. Anyone have any tips on driving a stick?

I don't have any pictures of it yet, but here is the link to the dealer http://caryimports.com/view/C1008/Bl...ang-in-Cary-NC

As far as mods go, I will eventually go boosted. But in the mean time while I get used to the car I'm going to focus on more visual stuff. The car already has a tune, CAI, offroad mid pipe, and the guy said it had flowmaster outlaw axle backs but they look more like the Hushpower axle backs. I'm not sure what gears are in it, first gear seems almost non existent so I'm assuming maybe 3.73's. I will have to look at the diff and see. So far I love the car and driving a stick. Like I said any tips on driving a stick would be appreciated. And I will post some pics up tomorrow when I get home from work.

Very nice! Congrats! I had a 05 v6 auto and I swore to myself I'll never buy an automatic sports car again. I like stick because I feel more in control of the vehicle. First and foremost, find out what she redlines at! haha I know for my 14 v6 it's 7k. That way you can push her to the limit while leaving others in the dust If you're driving it in winter/snow sometimes it's better to start off in 2nd to decrease any wheel spin. When I want to go easy on her and save gas, I usually shift around 2k and then keep it at about 1.5K while cruising. You'll get the hang of it in no time.

Thanks, this will be a daily driver so I'm sure it will end up seeing snow at some point. Luckily I live down south, so if it does so it's normally never that bad and it normally doesn't stick to the ground for very long at all. I just got done doing a nice long drive while it is dark and there aren't many people out. I have to say I think I've pretty much got the going forward thing down. I'm still a little jerky but not bad at all. I just need to work on reverse lol

Sounds like a good car. Lots of mods already in place to improve on. With those mods I'm sure it does already have a tune as you said. Anyway I hope you got the tuner as part of the deal or you're going to have issues down the road.
