electronic throttle body
The electronic throttle body light has gone on in my 2011 V6 mustang 4 times over the last 6 weeks. I have taken it to the dealer and they can't find the code that is causing this. The car is still under the extended warranty but they are giving me a hard time because I have some upgrades such as after market mufflers, K&N air filter and they even complain about the tires on the car.
Is there any help for this problem. Should I take it to an independent dealer?

Since you have warranty coverage I wouldn't take it to an independent person; once they mess with it you can forget your warranty.
Take it to another Ford dealer with techs who know more than just looking for a computer code. There isn't any reason that mufflers, tires, or a K&N filter will cause the throttle body electronics to give out.
Or contact Deysha, the Ford rep on the board and maybe she can follow up with the dealer and document your issue.

As JimC mentioned, you are welcome to get it checked at a different Ford Dealer if needed. Since not all dealers are mod friendly, you can locate one of our FRPP authorized dealers here. This may help. Let me know what you decide to do and the outcome.

Thank you. I agree with you. They're saying this information comes from Ford. The first time I brought it in I had an AirRaid cold air intake in the car and they said that it may be causing the problem. I replaced it with the original intake air box and still got the warning wrench light.
I told them that the day if first happened I was having work done in my garage. They were grinding the cement floor, the car was parked outside and there was a lot of fine cement dust being created. I don't know why they didn't clean or suspect the MAF sensor. I think I'll clean it myself and see if that helps.

Thanks It happened again today while on the free way. I was near a Ford dealer in Folsom, CA and told him about the issues I was having with the dealer in Sacramento. He took the car in and within an hour he told me I needed a new Throttle body. He will get the part on Monday and he gave me a free rental car to use until then. He found it hard to believe all the excuses the other dealer was throwing at me. All he had to do was take a step beyond reading codes.
Thanks to you also Deysha!
