Nice win!

Quick questions---

1-what kind of wax are you using?

2-how on earth did you paint the stock air tube? Isn't it going to flake-off/crack, eventually?

Congrats PW.. The ride looks mint with the new hood ornament.. It may cause a large obstruction in your view driving down the road

Keep it up Professor - maybe next year if I can make it out to St. Louis we can park next to each other with a table between us to display all the hardware [8D]

Hood Ornament.... Naa... I just drive with my head out da window!

Wax... Pinnacle Sovereign... EXPENSIVE.. but worth every penny.

Detail I use Maguiers Detailer on paint... Armerall Glass Wipes on chrome and aluminum. Flizt to take out any scuffs or blemishes on anything... Maguiers Classic Gold Leather wipes on the leather and vinyl.

Air Tube... FIRST I cleaned it with alcohol... Next I painted it with "Plastic Paint".. red actually but it looked orange... available at your local hardware store in a multitude of colors, just be sure it says "Specially formulated to adhear to plastics". Next I painted it with Red Enamel that matched my car fairly closely. If you do this be careful as it takes a LONG time for it to dry - but it will cure wonderfully after about 72 hours. You could speed up the process with heat lamps but be carful how fast you dry it as the faster you cause it to cure the more brittle it will become.

the Plastic Paint sticks to the tube... the Enamal Paint sticks to the plastic paint... I used Enamal because that paint dries soft and stays limber, whereas Lacquer dries hard. I used "Glossy" paint to get the shean without having to use a clearcoat which would flake off eventually.

Hole in my hood.... Yea.. I noticed that too.... I think that thing on top of the engine accidetnly poked thorough when I shut the hood on it.
