Default Wireing Harnesses? where?

So, I'm new so i'm sorry if this sounds LQ.

So i have a 2012 and my radio just died on me, So instead of putting another factory system that's failed on me before.

I'd like to put a aftermarket radio in. Sounds easy right? Not really ive spent an entire week trying to find this pesky wiring harness for it and I cannot find it. Like do they even exist at this point? Anyone know??

Welcome to the forum! What is "LQ" ? ?

I assume your car is out of the bumper-bumper warranty. People here have swapped out the head unit so it's quite possible. Try a search if you haven't already. Raxiom makes an aftermarket unit but I would not recommend it. http://www.americanmuscle.com/raxiom-gps-nav-1014.html

LQ means low quality.
I still am in a warrenty area, but it only covers engine and paint.

Also, all i need is the adapter piece that clips into the factory harness. its called a "vehicle specific wiring harness" but all ive found doesn't fit.
looks somthing like this, Where u have to splice it into the piece that fits into the aftermarket radio.

Don't worry - there's a lot of "LQ" issues / solutions here. You are trying to solve an issue that has a real solution.

As I said, Raxiom is just one company that has a replacement model. Crutchfield does/did carry something as well. They clearly have some sort of adapter and would probably sell just that to you. It's worth a shot - all it takes is a few minutes to make a phone call or two.

if you go thru crutchfield and get a head unit, they will throw in all the adaptors and dash kit you need, check em out. also go to www.the12volt.com to get wiring and color codes for your car. good luck
