Rear seat locking tab problem/question
I removed the rear seat from my 05 GT to add some insulation. After several tries to fit the insulation and still be able to lock the two tabs at the front of the seat I think they have worn to the point they won't hold the seat down tight - even with the insulation removed. They are a very cheap plastic design unlike the metal locks found on earlier cars including Mustangs. Looks like they are part of the entire rear seat plastic frame. Anyone ran into this and, if so, what kind of fix did you use?
I have a couple of ideas but they involve putting a screw into the metal in the carpeted area below the seat and using some metal brackets bolted to the plastic seat frame. That would show but, painted black, would not be noticeable.
Would appreciate any better ideas and/or experiences. Thanks!

if you look at the under side of the seat, you'll see the pice that snaps in its like a
|/ shape. if you pull the slanted pice back out without breaking it off it should re snap in
sorry i know thats very vague but its hard to explain haha
good luck

Thanks for your reply. But, if you look back at my first post, my problem is worn locking tabs. I understand fully how they operate. I have removed and replaced the seat before. But my question asked if anyone had an idea for repairing the locking tabs.
Anyone out there have an answer or suggestion? Thanks ahead for any replies.
