Default Shifter ?

I just installed a new FR shifter. Major improvement over stock, reverse is definetaly more work! I'm hoping over time the springs for rev will get easier?

Anyone have one with some miles on it?

Welcome to the forum!

I can't help you with your concerns, but I'm glad you started this thread as I am looking at getting the FR shifter myself. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

If I had to guess I'd say the shifter was mounted incorrectly - perhaps something is loose or not put in the correct position.

The install was pretty easy. The only thing that was a pain and could be a issue would be the rubber boot. It's a real pain to get back seated all the way. If you get it seated all the way and try to inspect it you will pull it off again.

did u follow the directions to set up the reverse gate properly? u have to measure the distance from the top of the box down, and set the gate to one side or the other depending on the distance, i installed one and reverse is no more difficult than stock

The directions said the shifter was set for the 2011/12. The 2013 had to be adjusted. So I made no adjustment and installed as is out of the box. I'm guessing it's either a break in period or the boot is not seated all the way down. I'm happy with 1st-6 just rev sucks !

when i put mine in, it said u had to measue no matter what, i would double check, just pull the boot off and look at the gate, if it looks like u cant push down enough for it to clear the window then loosen the set screw and spin 180 and try the other. its basically the only thing that could cause your concern. good luck

Ok, I pulled the boot off and it shifted into rev with no issue. Took some time and some needle nose pliers and now she works fine! You need some small hands to get that boot on or a good pair of NN pliers!

Thanks for the help..
