Ticking noise at idle

I have a ticking noise at idle that increases with rpm, didn't start until after spraying for first time. Help!

spraying? spraying water on engine to clean it or NOS?

Could be an exhaust leak or a bad lash adjuster/ follower. Or even a broken chain guide allowing the chain to kiss the timing cover. You will at least need to pull the cam covers to investigate. It could also be a bad phaser.

I think it is an O ring around one of the injectors, i can smell gas under the hood from the leak. the car was just at the shop for the nitrous tune and they didnt mention anything about phasers or anything more troublesome. It is going back to the shop in a week to have a 2.3 HO whipple installed so i will have them look around again before they get to far along.
