Considering getting back into the S197 game...
It's time for another vehicle, and I'm soooooo tempted to get another S197 GT.
I had a new 2008 GT Premium and have missed it every day since she was left at the local Jeep dealer. I'd love to get another mustang but am torn between a daily driver quality vintage (64-69) or trying to rebuild my lost love.
If I wanted to do some mild mods, like intake/full exhaust, wheels/tires, with the whimsy thought of maybe putting on a whipple or KB, do you think searching out a 2008 Bullitt is worth it? The S197 is dropping in price like a rock in a pond and decent units are all over SoCal (I live in Los Angeles now.) The Bullitts are awesome cars, but if I'm going to change wheels/tires, intake, and exhaust, is the rest worth the mild price increase?
What would you all do if you had 15-20k sitting around waiting for a "new" 'stang. Don't say buy a brand new one. I've already tired that and the boss shot it down (it's her turn for the nice car.) LOL
Thanks everyone....

My buddy picked up a super clean 05gt with 31k miles and tasteful mods for $12,500. Put a blower on there for another $5k and you have an amazing car. Go for it. Bullitts have a cool interior but other than that it's a green car to me.

One thing I need to consider, that I've never had to before.....I no longer have a garage that I can DIY in. So everything I "want" to do needs to be thought of in aspects of whether or not I can afford to pay someone to do it for me.
Oh how I'd love to find a GT500 for less than 27k and in immaculate condition.......

Steeda UDPs, CMDPs, Hellion 10psi intercooled turbo kit -> 450rwhp 474rwtq
With a custom dyno tune and 15 degres of timing, the stock internals should survive.

Agree. The value of a Bullitt is to keep it original if it's to become a collectors' car, so get a GT and mod it. For power I'd suggest:

Now, if I still had my own garage/shop.....then I'd consider a more "modified" beast. Or just shell out the cash and get a cherry GT500 and die a happy man......
