Default Upgrading Brakes

Hello all!

In the process of upgrading my brakes. Just wanted to make sure i'm getting all of my information right.

Everything brake wise is all V6 sizes. I want to upgrade the fronts to the GT size. Obviously, the rears are the same size. I know that in order to upgrade sizes, the only requirement was to have 17" or bigger wheels. I have the 18" 2010 GT500 Machined Staggered Wheels.

I was thinking about buying this Power Brake Stop Kit. Aside from the calipers, I should be good to go, correct?

I also wanted to buy the MGP Caliper Covers to add a bit of style and hopefully cut down on some of the brake dust. I was told by AM that I couldn't run these without wheel spacers. Didn't want to get those if I didn't have to. Anyone have any information on that?

No, it isn't just putting bigger wheels and rotors on the car. You will need the GT caliper bracket (the caliper itself is the same) for the front. The bigger rotor requires a bigger bracket to move the caliper out further to clear. (GT caliper bracket on the left, and V6 caliper bracket on the right)

Thanks Jim!

Don't know why my mind totally blanked when I was writing that post. I knew I had to get the bigger caliper, just forgot to write it down. My mind was still trying to figure out why the caliper covers wouldn't work without the spacers. I keep getting two different answers on the issue. You don't have any experience with them do you?

No experience with the covers. I know people who have had them and didn't need spacers though.

And it isn't the caliper you need, just the bracket. The caliper itself is the same.
