Default Help! coolant issue 2006 mustang Gt.

Not sure if this is the right area to post this but here it goes. I just bought a 2006 mustang GT. it has been running excellent. But SOMETIMES when I go to park or after I park there is literally a huge puddle of my coolant on the ground. I'm not sure where it's coming from but I took it too an auto shop and they checked the pressure in the reservoir and said no leaks were detected. So my guess is it's coming out the cap somehow. The cap doesn't look deformed or cracked. It's tightly secured on. It has not been overheating at all. I'm just clueless as to what it could be and Im not looking to get into a money pit this early with the car. If anybody has any ideas on what it could be, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- Wes.

Check the coolant overflow tank, it might have a hairline crack that doesn't open up until enough pressure has built up.

Check to see if the cap holds pressure.

Test your coolant. It should test at least 34 below zero. It's a good idea to do a flush if you think the coolant is old. It is possibly bad coolant or too weak and is boiling.

get a pressure tester, and pressure test the system and cap, its the only GOOD way to determine the cause of a leak

+1. The cap should open at 16psi. Your cap is probably original equipment and IMHO for under $15, at this age, it's a good investment anyway.
