Post Dashboard Fan Indicator

Hi all,

'13 V6 Prem here. For 99% of the time I'm driving, LED indicator of the a/c fan in the dashboard (same screen as radio station, ect). Occassionally, the car will freak out and cycle the a/c fan up and down very quickly and all of the sudden it's visible on the LED screen in the top left. Is it normal for this indicator to not show up usually?

I'm sure there's been some talk here about the natural cracking of this plastic; is it possible that this is the cause?

I ran into that a couple of times on my 2012. I could reproduce it by pushing the power and defrost buttons at the same time, then immediately pressing the power button again. The first time it did this to me I think I accidentally fat-fingered the power button and inadvertently also pushed the defrost button.
