Default "sidewalls" on seats

I've seen this from the first time I have gotten into my car that it is easy to drag your butt across the sidewall of the seat. Before I got my 05 i saw a few wrinkles from the previous owner dragging his butt across the seat. When i sat in a 03 roush it was not nearly as difficult to get out without doing this. Any one else have a llittle wear and tear on their sides from getting in and out? It isn't that big of a deal just as long as Ford replaces them if they crack in a year or so.

I noticed a little wear on the side of the seat by the way I was getting in being lower makes it worse. I started changing the way I get in the car. The one thing that you need to look for is the front of the seat. The leather will come loose and become like a flap both driver and passenger seat did it on mine. There is a Tsb on that one Ford has already fixed both of my seats.

Technical Service Bulletin. It details any know problems for a specific issue and Fords recommended fix. They are distributed by Ford to the dealers, but are very easily found on-line.

If you are experiencing any problems with you car, you may want to look into them, especially of the problem is intermittent. If there is a TSB on the issue it normally lends your case with the mechanic some more credibility.. not to mention a recommended place for him/her to start looking at for the repair.

I think it's unlikely that Ford's going to replace the pleather after it cracks in a year. Wear and tear item. In the first week or month, probably - a year later, doubtful.

I'm going to save my pennies and replace my front seats with some Recaro's or recover them all in leather once the cracks turn into crevices.
