I'm wheel an tire shopping an try to decide on what sizes I don't want any bigger than a 18 in wheel size but I want backs to be wider like alot wider. I can't drive my car on wet roads at all hardly. So I wanna put more meat on the road. I was think 325/35s on the back an just going with a 8.5 wide tire in the front. What's you guys opinions and suggestions?

are your current tires bald? usually bald tires make wet road driving tougher, but if the tires aren't bald then chances are you should use a more gentle throttle.

 

A stock-ish power 4.6L S197 doesn't need more than about a 285-wide tire and even then you can't just pick any old 285/xx-18 tire.

I will put in a video plug for Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 285/35-18. Although they can be run on wheels as narrow as 9.5", they're better off on 10's (and mine are on max-recommended 11's, which pulls the sidewalls out to about the same width as a 295/35 tire). Camera shake on the last lap starts at about 110 mph. Corners other than the one going over the little hill and the left-hander after the bridge are being taken at 55 mph or more, and they're taking WOT in 3rd gear (3.55's in the axle).

I love Pilot Super Sports had them on my WRX, on my s197 I had Falken 275's all around, they gripped really good on the roads, but wore down quickly.

 

325s will rub if you don't take precautionary efforts, 295s fit fine, I think I've heard of some folks being able to get away with 305s. The thing with wide tires though, they usually are worse on wet roads due to the tread pattern and composition, usually being designed for dry weather traction. A good all around tire was continental extreme contact.
