Default Insurance company not honor accident claim due to mods?

Any insurance companies fight your claim after they find your Mustang modified?

I Have never heard of it. Im certain they can't deny you coverage just b/c you have mods. Complete neglect on your part and causing an accident they could. My insurance guy tells me if I have receipts for my mods that they will pay for those if i were to have a claim. I hope to never find out as I am doubtful

Depends on the insurance company's terms of service/claim and who was at-fault. Some require you to notify them when you mod the car so they can adjust the coverage or costs based on the mods. Others will flat out deny coverage on non-oem performance modifications. Others like outceltj mentioned simply require you to maintain the receipts to provide them to obtain coverage on the mods after the fact.

Some insurance companies will fight you if they feel the mods or negligent driving because of the mods caused the accident. Supercharger and you spun yourself out of control in an intersection or from street racing. Yep, they could fight you on that.

I could see them denying a claim if you have your tail lights blacked out and got rear ended.
