The weird part of this is in 5th or 6th if I move the shifter over to Right side maybe 1/8th of and inch it goes away, same with 1st 2nd but pull it towards the left ..it’s doesn't do this sound in 3 or 4th gear because I’m guessing the shifter isn’t to the left or right side. I’m wondering is something wrong here, 6th is louder then all the rest. I’ll attach a video let me know what you guys think. It’s very short because of the 5MB threshold but you can tell what I’m talking about.
It leads me to a bearing issue since when you are pushing on the shifter the noise lessens. To me that means the fork in the tranny is pushing on a shaft that has a loose bearing. IE when in 5th & 6th you push one way and it stops but if in 1st or 2nd push the opposite and it does the same. I am not a mechanic on trannys but I have had similar issues on a 79 F150 and it was bearings inside....
