Default Specific Interior Lights Won't Shut Off

My wife's 2007 GT vent control lighting for the fan speed, temperature control mode selector dials as well as the lighting for the hazard signal button and the transmission position indicator lighting on the center console do not turn off when the car is shutoff.

All other interior and exterior lights work fine. I tried the dimmer switch and it controls the dashboard cluster properly, i.e. speedo, tach, fuel, engine temp, etc.

Any ideas?

tried removing that module and unplugging it? Fuses?
Disconnect battery for a few minutes then reattach? Lights still on?

No joy. Fuse is good and module seems good since it also controls the intrusion detection which is working.

Check the passenger side kick panel fuse box for corrosion. Some early 07 models still suffered from a leak around the SJB (smart junction box). The leak created corrosion that eventually manifests itself into all sorts of strange lighting and controls issues. To best inspect it, remove the entire panel, not just the kick plate.

The dimmer switch for the dash lights is after the SJB so the fact that it works points to something upstream of it...like the SJB.

Here is the TSB with all potential water leak sources, focus on the one for the SJB.

Thanks, but I think you mean a closed circuit because voltage is at the lighting. I just can't figure what component is failing in a closed position.

im going to call BS on no water intrusion in the SJB. your in Florida, it rains almost daily. you have an 07 S197 car. they all have water leaks into the cabin at some place or another via clogged cowl drains, the 10 cowl clip retainer gaskets or lack there of, the door weather strip seals or failing body panel sealer. in any of these, the water finds its way inside the car and into the SJB. accept the fact your car has had water in it, please. you need to remove the SJB (1 10mm bolt and several clips/connectors). take it apart and check for corrosion and clean accordingly. all wires that feed to the SJB are hot and are grounded (or closed) via various relays/circuits inside. any water or corrosion will close these circuits and the result is an issue your experiencing. good luck

Wow! You’re calling BS. That’s a little personal don’t you think. I told you I stated I pulled the SJB and inspected it for water intrusion/rust and there is none. Why would I BS anyone on this forum? I asking for help and I’m running suggestions to ground. See attached pictures and quick talking like a tough guy threatening someone over the internet.
