Questions
Hello all,
I'm a bit new to forums so if I'm braking any rules please let me know but here we go;
A few years back I purchased a brand new 2014 v6/3.7l mustang. I've been slowly putting things on her and have kind of run into a little issue.
Details: Purchased MAC Performance Long tube headers & Off-Road shorty Mid Pipe with some form of Magnaflow mufflers (can't remember the muffler shop I went to suggested the mufflers and I jumped on it, I was a newby =\). Installed at 26k miles hopeful to solve this issue before the 33.5k miles mark
Issue: raspy/metallic sound at around 2k-3k RPMS then 6k and up.
Fix: I've been uninstalling and reinstalling everything to ensure I torqued everything down to specs. I've also replaced the manifold gasket twice to ensure it isn't a gasket leak. That doesn't seem to help. I've contacted a local muffler shop and they told me the best bet is to install some high-flow cats back in place and that should cut down on the raspy metallic sound.
Questions: Where might I be able to find some reasonably priced cats (high flow or not). Can I hook just anything up to those long tube headers (I've read you have to match brands together). Lastly, Can I re-sell my mid-pipe I've barely put 5k miles on it.
Sorry for such a long post I'm just at my witts end attempting to fix this. I need/want help any information you have would be a huge help to me.
Thanks in advance

I have BBK 'catted' x pipe with my BBK long tube headers. I still have a little rasp with my Magnaflow street series axlebacks. Mine isn't bad and I can live with it. The best thing for you to do (in my opinion) is buy quieter mufflers or add resonators to cut down on your rasp. Let us know on what you decide on and how it goes
