2009 Bullitt - Cracked Fog Lamp Clip
Hi Everyone,
New member and proud owner of a 2009 Bullitt here.
Recently, one of the clips that holds in the driver-side fog lamp cracked off of my front bumper. The fog lamp now hangs down on that side, only affixed by the clip on the other side of the lamp.
The dealership mechanic told me that the entire front bumper needs to be replaced at a body shop, as the plastic clips do not have replacements pieces. I haven't yet spoken to my body shop guy, but this seems rather extreme to me. Has anyone seen this before or happen to know of a less severe solution to replacing the clip, other than a simple epoxy for the short term? Or is this just an excuse for a tasteful front bumper upgrade?
Thanks!

Epoxy is always a remedy, and if done right will last. We use this stuff at the
shop that comes from a dual plunger glue gun, with two cylinders that
mixes the epoxy as it comes out of the tip for direct application. This gets
hot too, and sets in one minute.
We use this stuff when we cut saw tail light housings in half to
add halo lighting inside, it, then glue them back together. It is very
strong, and will never come apart. What usually works is those one
minute epoxy kits you can get at a store; like a dual syringe. Then you
mix it on cardboard, and apply quickly as it dries in one minute. There is
a five minute epoxy, but is not as strong.
I can't see what broke, usually, there are slots the dog housing clips go into.
If the slot broke off, that's tough. The slots are integral to the bumper cover,
which is why they want to replace the whole thing. They're are a part of the
bumper cover.
