Default Needing transmission

Hey all,

I am in need of a transmission for my 2007 Mustang 4.0L Convertible. Any suggestions on what I should purchase and places or websites to look at?
Im not trying to break the bank but looks like a Reman is the way to go. Thoughts?

Had mine replaced two years ago at 117,000 miles. Went with a reman from Ford. Pricey, but I only say that because I had to have it done I can't do that kind of work anymore. Getting old sucks.

Auto or Manual?

If Manual I'd go with a Tremec:
https://www.jegs.com/i/Ford-Performa...-R58H/10002/-1
or
https://www.jegs.com/i/Ford-Performa...-R58C/10002/-1
or
https://www.jegs.com/i/Ford-Performa...M6295/10002/-1

If Auto then:

Hope this helps...

If Tremec makes one I'd go with that. Jay Leno swears that they're bullet proof.

Auto or manual would help to know.

Auto, I'd go with TCI or Level 10 for performance. If you're looking for a stock one, LKQ remanufacturerd is excellent and what the dealers use.

Good luck. Transmissions are not cheap. I had the dreaded worn out housing problem, and that cost me $1,800 to rebuild the one I had, and that was with a corporate business to business discount.

You can go to car-part.com and search used parts in your area.

I've noticed a recent rash of drive by posts and just umm...less than learned people frequenting the forums... a bit sad.
