Default 2014 Rapid Turn Signal

On my way home from work today when i used my right turn signal it started blinking quickly, i checked when i got home and saw the middle light in the sequence wasnt coming on so i disconnected the taillight plug and reconnected it. All lights are now working but they are not blinking sequentially and it is still rapid. Does anyone have an idea how i could fix this? I tried to visit a local auto parts store but they said you cannot replace individual bulbs on this certain model/year id have to buy a new housing. Just trying to find some other things to try out before attempting that. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

If you are talking about the rear taillights on the 2013-2014 Mustang, I have some bad news for you. They cannot be serviced. From what I understand, the whole module has to be replaced and last I saw, they cost at least a grand a piece!

You might be able to find a savvy autoelectric place that can take them apart and try to fix them. But I believe there are no serviceable, e.g., replaceable parts, so the cheapest option is get the modules from a junkyard. I have a 2013 and think those sequential taillights are the coolest ones ever put on a factory car, but maybe there is a reason Ford discontinued them on the 2015+ Mustangs (which have taillights which are so blah and boring). I believe those can be serviced. Anyway, I haven't been keeping up to date with the subject so maybe somebody else can provide more optimistic or enlightening information.

Many of us who own the 2005-2009 Mustangs bought sequential taillights through WebElectric. They are guaranteed for life. You many want to check with them and see if they have them for your year. It's an easy install, just plug and play and definitely not a grand a piece.

The neat thing about the 2013-2014 taillights is particularly at night, when you see an outline of each of the six lights around the periphery. When you brake, the center of each lights up in red. Then when you use the blinkers, the centers light up and move in sequential action. They are also LED so super bright. The 2015s and up are so blah because they are solid color only, albeit sequential, but the neat features of the 2013-2014s come at a cost.

In Japan, the military guys who bring this car over have to convert the rear blinkers to amber to pass Japanese regulations. There are a couple of Japanese autoelectric shops that can cut them open and do this. How they do it is beyond me, but they charge around $400 U.S. per side. It's supposed to be reversible so when they take the car back to the states.

Check your front turn signals. If a bulb is out or you install an LED, you'll get rapid flash and the rear lights won't sequence anymore either.

If you want an aftermarket option, check out The Retrofit Source and American Muscle for a pair of round lights that look a bit like the new Ford GT for $375 - $500 /pair.
