Default Raptor Mustang Build

I’ve been watching the forums for all the hate about people asking how to lift their mustangs and I know I will get it here but this **** is getting built wether y’all like it or not.

Came across the Mustang Raptor Concept drawing a while back and thought it was rad.
I have a 2014 Mustang V6 that is pretty beat up. Bumper are unaligned, paint is kinda ****ty, etc. So I decided to build a Mustang Raptor.
Since nobody has actually done it I figured I’d be the first and that I’d document and share with everyone.

To start it’s going to be more looks that actual practicality so bear with me but eventually it will get suspension and all that jazz.

As of right now I’ve got tires set up for it 225/65/17 BFG KO2s and plan to start with building a raptor style bumper for up front.

Hope it’s not all hate here but I’m gonna share it anyways.

Seems like a tall order. You must be a skilled body man. It will be interesting to see your build progress. The picture doesn't look bad. Im neither turned off or on by it. Its certainly something that would probably grow on me if it was done properly

Okay. So tires are now on. 225/65/17 BFG KO2s. Look awesome.

I started with the bumper today. Picked up a bumper off of a jeep gladiator from a friend for $20 that I thought looked close to the raptor bumper so figured I’d try it out. Thinking it’ll be too narrow. Might just have to shell out the cash for a actual raptor bumper.

in the meantime I pulled the wheel wells out and trimmed the bottom of the stock bumper down to see how it would look and it’s pretty bad but gives me a good idea on how it’ll sit when I get a bumper on it. Going to have to relocate the wiper fluid which will be easy but other than that seems like it should work well.

How high are you planning to lift it?

I’m think a 2-3” lift. I’ve heard the v8 struts will give it a bit of lift and I’ve heard of a few guys putting spacers in the rear so I’m going to try and start with that and see how it looks. Maybe see if a local Offroad shop could do a “leveling kit” for it. Don’t see why it wouldn’t work the same as all of the other kits out there.
