Cam moved during phaser replacement. HALP.
Hey Guys.
Hoping for help on this asap, as my brother is gonna lose his mind if I keep my car in his driveway for too long. I was trying to replace a cam phaser this past weekend. Followed all the instructions, or so I thought. As soon as I pulled the cam phaser, the cam jumped forward. I had marked it, so I know where it has to go to get back right. However, I couldn't rotate it enough to get there.
Any tips or tricks? I need to be able to rotate the passenger cam counterclockwise about 30-40 degrees. I can use a wrench and get it ALMOST there, but not quite.
Do I have to just bite the bullet and pull the front timing cover and redo all the timing?
PLZ HALP.

The cams stay in full advance when parked so it's likely at least two intake valves are coming into contact with a piston when you turn the cam anticlockwise.
