Some cool things about your Mustang
...you didn't know about until later on as you are using it. What neat thing did you find out? My car is a premium Mustang.
I started picking my son up from work at 10pm so got to find some new things in the dark!
I think its cool how the overhead lights come automatically on slowly so not to blind you when you pull your key out of the steering wheel.
I think its cool how some of the interior lights don't come on if you forget to turn on your headlights. I looked down and saw my shifter was in the dark until I turned on the headlights and ta da I could see the shifting letters light up. Nice reminder that you don't have the headlights on.
I notice with the headlights on the dashboard lights are green but when you turn them off, the dashboard lights turn bright white on the speedometer and such. (don't have My Color option)
I was disapointed to find there is no trunk light when I opened it in the dark.
Have you found out any new things about your Mustang now you've had it awhile?

I may have to look harder and see if there is a light in the trunk...maybe my bulb is out or do others find this to be true...no light in the trunk of a v6 premium converible???

That's odd, the GT verts have a trunk light.

On the IUP, I like how the fuel gauge turns red when you get low on gas, regardless of your choice of MyColor. Still searchin' for the inside trunk release button!

Okay thank you! I just went out and looked...yes there is a light but it did not light up. Guess I need to see if they will replace it since it should still be under warrenty! I didn't see an easy way to get into it as it was to replace it. My trunk safety release is a plastic handle that dangles down from the trunk lid when you open it up. It looks like it may be a glow in the dark plastic.

I actually just had to replace the plastic piece that houses the light.
I originally removed it (incorrectly) trying to determine which wire I needed to splice into for a trunk release button...
anyhow, I think you're going to have to pull the entire platic cover off, and there's a metal bracket on the back holding the light fixture in. The light fixture comes out easily through the front when you squeeze the metal bracket.
You might be able to pry the light from the front without removing the cover, but I wouldn't suggest it.
To pull the cover off, just be careful, pull straight down (do NOT pull one side up too far, else it will break the other side's brackets, and you'll be replacing your's just like me).
The bulb appears to be a standard el cheapo bulb, not exactly sure what size it would, but I'm sure if you took it to an autozone, you could find a bulb to replace it.
