Inspect the area that was damaged. Ask what exactly has been damaged, painted and replaced. Usually it's the number one source of problems with the paint job which can possibly result in rust.

I have owned two 2006 GTs. When I bought the first one, the seller told me up front that he does not drive the car much but every time he does, he had to jump start it. I bought the car and did some research on this forum and learned that the battery drain issue only happens if the radio is left in the on position or a CD is left in the CD player when the car is turned off. So, I remembered to never do those two things and my battery never died on me. When I bought the next 2006, which I've had for three years now, the battery drained on me exactly one time and yes, I forget to remove a CD from the CD player. So in my case, the drain issue is not related to a remote starter, it's just a known issue with these cars. I am not sure if all S197s are impacted or just the 2006.

On the first 06, one time after sitting out in a heavy rain storm, the carpet on the passenger side, under the glove box was soaking wet. There were leaves that clogged the drain port inside the engine bay near the firewall that allowed the water to backup and leak into the car's interior.

I've had no other problems with either of my 06's. I also had an 08 V6 for a while. Great car.
