Trunk Release Sticks
Is anyone having a problem with their trunk release sticking? Lately, it seems that I have to click it twice to get the trunk to pop up. The latch clicks each time but only after the second time will the trunk pop up. I tried cleaning the weatherstrip, thinking it might be sticking to the trunk, but that didn't help.
Also, this mainly happens when the trunk has been closed for a day or so. It's not repeatable each time, especially after just opening the trunk.

Mine is starting to act up. I push the button on the remote and it goes "click...clack" instead of just one simultaneous "click" sound.
Is there something that needs to be lubricated?

Mine too.... seems the rubber gets "Sticky" with the cooler weather.
The trunk does "unlock".. you have to slip your fingers under the edge of the trunk and lift... you will hear the rubber peal as it releases itself.
A very find coating of silicone lube took care of it for me.

After removing my stock wing, my car started to have the trunk release problem as well.
I don't think it had anything to do with the wing removal, but happened about the same time. Maybe, since I don't have the wing to use as a handle, I notice it more now.
Anyhow, I've found that if I just push down slighly on the trunk and release, it pops the latch, and opens easily.
I'll have to try the silicone lube idea and see if that works for me or not.

Mine is sticking too. Hey Prof could you provide a picture/diagram(or be more specific) as to where you lubed it up?
This is frustrating as hell because my wife and kid both try to lift the hood by the wing and I know if this keeps up they are gonna tear it off.

No pictures needed really.
I took a can of Silicone Lube spray.... lightly sprayed my finger and spread it along the edge of the rubber seal that surrounds my trunk. Covers 2 bases at once... keeps the rubber from sticking to the trunk lid, and treats the rubber so it will last just a little longer.
