After reading all of this I am begining to think maybe it's just not me. I also have trouble grabbing third in a hurry. I'm getting better at it but maybe it's not just me. I think I will consider upgrading the shifter in the spring.

It's NOT just you. Third is a bitch to find. Mustangs have been like that for years for some reason. Most of the aftermarket shjifters for the previous models addressed this. I had the steeda Tri-ax in my '03 and it was kinda noisy but it shifted GREAT and I never missed third.

I know this shifter is a slightly different setup so I would like to hear from a few more people who have an aftermarket shifter.

I have the same feeling with 3rd (06 GT). Overall I like the shifter, but 3rd isn't good at all.. I may take the leap to the Hurst shifter come spring time

Anyone got a report on how they like theirs?
I couldn't be happier with mine. I used to miss the 2nd-3rd shift occasionally, but not since I installed the Hurst shifter - it's damn near impossible to *not* get it right now.

Those who have a hurst shifter, is it hard to install? Is it something i need to bring to a shop to get done or can i do it in a garage in few hours?

I just got the Saleen kit as mentioned above and I'm very pleased. Little rougher than stock- similar to all the short throw shifters out there, but defiantly shortens it quit a bit! Only 10 min to install and $30 is good price.

Pretty simple - this one's a DIY.

How long did it take to get your shifter from Saleen? I heard from someone it took forever I ordered mine on monday and was hoping to get it for x-mas.

It only took 4 days, but then I'm only 2 hrs. away. Be sure your at home, they send it with signature required and it must be in person. You can't sign the slip if you miss it and expect them to drop it off at your own risk.

If you get the same instructions as I did, the pictures show the driver side to the right of all the diagrams, but it’s actually to your left. I talked to Saleen this morning, and they mentioned this needs changed in their documentation.

Give them a call, they can give you the tracking numbers.

Hurst here and I love it. Do yourself a favor if you buy it though, invite a friend over to give you a hand. One person in the car, one person under makes all the difference. I can't imagine doing it alone!!
