Default RE: My Gt lacking power Why?

Want to thank you all guys again for replying and posting all the help. And in reply to both questions regading 1st regarding traction controll i do have it off still no burning. Also viking i have put the best gas in it from begining. About the tune up the most of you guys have advised me about exactly what is it if you could give me info what exactly should i tell ford to do or where to get thst tune up from. I also have complained to ford and they said that tomorrow if i bringmy car back they will try to upgrade my computer software in the car to the 2006 and six model. I just dont know really what to tell them to do or where to get this tune up done. Really would appriciate any more help or info regarding the tune up guys. Will reseting the software like ford advised me to do solve the problem or should i jus tell them specifically to do a tune up.

Had to edit the thread after noticing robd comment. The think is robd regardless to the tires this is a 300 horsepower car. Its should from a complete stop to full throtel burn like crazy. I had a 1999 camero z28 which was like 250 or 280 horse power cant excatly remember but that thing used to burn rubber like crazy. This gt should easly burn for atleast 2 to 3 meters regardless of the tires. And when i first purchased the car it did that exactly. But then it started act wierd. Sometimes it would and sometimes it ouldnt. All of a sudden these past 2 days it dosent at all not even a squeak. i mean usually a car becomes stronger after the engine has been broken in. My car has done the opposite.

American muscle car Lover.

The 05's are strange cars..very moody. Even with my s/c, I can burn the tires on the 1-2 shift...sometimes not. On the dyno, there was a difference of about 20hp between two runs back to back. Datalog showed less timing on the lower one...not sure why the engine took some out...maybe heat. But 20hp is alot.

PROF? What makes the convertible heavier than the coupe? I would think it was the other way around since they have a heavier metal top vs the vinyl top? Just curious!

There's more weight due to the extra structural integrity needed because we don't have a top. We've got the hood mechanism and associated hardware, they've got a 'thin" metal roof.

Drop your roof down and feel the weight/thinkness of the front of the top, then take into account that "cross-member" half way down the convertible top and the "weight" of the soft-top its self as well, between them, there's where the majority of the extra weight comes from

wooow woow guys some reply's are 100% wrong

I own a 05 GT automatic

let me tell you as some said that the engine temp, weather, roads, A/C drain performance but doesnt mean like decreases 40% percent of power no something like 7% or 10 % but doesnt matter..

here is what i learned so far :

It depends on the road type 80% there were these times with traction ON the car just burns and traction tries to hold it.there is also this type of road where you have to apply little brake and imediatly leave it with full throttle (TRAC MUST BE OFF ) that would leave the car burning ruber for like 2 seconds ,,there is this type of road (WHICH I HATE ) that with the trac OFF and while appling break it just screams a little for less than half a second and goes normally.....

what im trying to say that it depends on the type of the street...I usually go find a street with little sand on it ( something like near a building construction site ) and just play there for a little.....

Try putting ur gear to D1 and TRAC OFF and raise the hand breaks and Just keep ur hands on the hand break and with right foot on top of the accelerator and when the traffic light goes green imediatly release Ebrake and in the same time HIT THE GAASSS!!!! .....

there is this other technique for hearing your beauty burn rubber... keep left foot on brakes and GEAR ON D1 and traction ON....and whenever the traffic light goes green while ur just releasing the left foot HIT THE GASS WITH THE RIGHT FOOT!!!! (this is diffrent than the one i said before... the one before goes like
:::

left foot on breaks and hit the GAS with right foot untill u hear ur rubber burning then just remove the left foot....

these are just for take off's on automatic trans... i also know how to slide the car WITH TRAC ON and on any street type u want.... if u want me to tell you everything i know just pm me lol
