RE: 1st oil change..What oil???
I been changing my oil for 15 years. This included my 1972 Mach 1 for the 8 years i had it. But when i got the 2005 GT I decided to let the dealership do it. That is not a sign of a true enthusiast or not. I just would rather that I not have to deal with the used oil and filter or disposal of them anymore. Enthusiast or not, V8 or V6, you shouldn't stereotype. It makes you look ignorant.

German 5.0 and FoMoCo, please explain to me what that has to do with owning a v6 or v8. That is absolutley the most pathetic thing I have ever heard. I really don't want to make this into a V6 vs. V8 battle, but I don't understand what is so wrong with changing my oil at the dealership!?!?!
The only true reason why I got a V6 over a V8 is insurance expense, especially in my area SW Florida!!! very high insurance rate due to many elders+ many tourists = many accidents = higher insurance rates.
But thank you for the stupid comments!!!

Ford recommends changing at 5,000. I chose 4,000 for my driving style. I use Motorcraft oil and motorcraft filters on this car. My other cars get cheap oil and good filters. Oil is oil. My van has over 300,000 and going strong with walmart oil and Puro filters. Some dealers are offering good prices on oil changes.
