I wouldn't go near the 500 or 1000. I test drove with both 500 and std radio. Yeah I could get some more of what I would call "annoying base" with the 500 but the stock radio sounds terrific and reception even inside my garage is phenomenal. I barely see a word on the std radio cause 95% of GT have shaker but even if I had to replace the radio for an aftermarket upgrade (which thankfully won't be necessary) I wouldn't trade my clean door panels for a free shaker 1000. If you want to keep kicking those huge ugly 500 1000 door panel speakers every time you and your passenger exit the car... well then get the shaker. Oh, the std radio has the adjustable speed sensitive volumes as well. Love that "free" sweet sound system (that few people know about; try one and see for yourself).

I've had my car for nearly six months now and am 100% happy with the Shaker 500. I play mostly MP3 CD's on it and have never had a skipping problem. Not everyone is having problems with it.

I'm on my second Skipper... I've had the car since May. This unit is giving me less problems than the last, but still...
Aftermarket, here I come.
