if you just snap off the triangular piece of plastic where your power mirror control switch is, where the mirror connects to the door, their are 3 bolts that hold the mirror to the door.

thanks everyone, oh and hawgman, no reason to be a smartass man, it was a simple question, ive never done anything like this, im not experienced and this is the second car i have ever owned, so excuse me for my cautious behavior.
With that said, snapping the triangle peice off, (being cautious, I dont want to break it) is it reletively easy to come off, is it just clipped in there? Thanks in advance!

Thetics: I've done mine. Use wide rather thin screwdriver, carefully prying away, starting at the top and gradually going down the sides. We're dealing with some plastic here so I would recommend doing this is temps say 60+ (I'm just a cautious person that 's all).
Then you can remove each of the three nuts; be careful not to drop one; (put a cloth down there first if you want to completely avoid facing this potential "slip of the fingers")
Same method both sides; 5-10mins each.
Honestly, I'd be a bit skeptical of a body shop that takes one look inside the car and thinks the door panel has to come off. It's obvious to the layman that the plastic cover would hide the mounting of the mirrors. The door panel is well below this area so I don't get that. If you really want to be sure the mirrors will be smooth you might want to sand them down yourself. Make sure they will use adhesion promoter first (Is that the product you mentioned?) Good luck, Jim

Jim, thanks for the tips. Yeah thats why i was sceptical, i dont see why the door panels have to come off. So the plastic cover just pops out huh? good to know. Thanks.

I would get a quote from another body shop. I had mine painted as well as the CDC spoiler, the lower grille. I removed the antenna and had the hole welded ground down and painted too. The entire job only cost $175 and it came out great. The paint was a perfect match. The mirrors did need 2 coats of paint to fill in the rough surface.
Removing the mirrors is a piece of cake. Don't worry so much about it. As soon as you get the triangular covers off you'll realize how simple a job it is. After you remove the mirros, put the nuts back on the treaded posts so you don't loose them. Then, wrap some masking tap around the nuts and the studs. My body shop did not mask this part and wound up getting a little paint on them. Not that it matters since you can't see it when it's all back together. You'll also want to mask off the connectors on the mirror just to be on the safe side.

Wow, I must have missed the memo saying you were the new internet god. Calling me a smartass in this thread, telling people to shut their trap and keep their opinions to themselves in another thread. You must be one big important dude. I bet you are just as intimidating in person as you are on the web.
