Default supercharged stangs

Hey guys,
I am looking for opinions and shared experience from owner that have put a supercharger to into a 05-06 Mustang.
I am ordering an 06 triple black GT convertible with an automatic trans. My Ford dealer has offered to install either polished after-cooled Vortech or inter-cooled Procharger. They also said they could do the Saleen SC, although they have only installed the other two superchjargers on 05-06 Stangs so far. I am also going to have them install a new Ford ring-pinion set to 3.73 and less restrictive exhaust too. They are willing to put the package into the car deal, and it will cost me between 8000 and 10,000 to have them do the modifications. They said they will back the factory drivetrain warranty as long as I don't put a rod through the block by over-revving it. Service Manager said this engine shifts between 5500 and 6100 so over-revving not likely with an automatic transmission. They have done serveral for customers and have not had any issues yet or had to deny any engine warranty work.
I want to build daily driver that is reliable but will still smoke the little ricers etc.
I would like to hear from those running any of the above superchargers as to their experience in power gains and problems.
Thanks!

man your dealer is full of $hit it isn't a matter of whether or not he will be backing the warranty Ford Motor Company does have a Say so in it. I am a carsalesman and i know that for a fact if you put a supercharger on one you are going to be screwed because if there are any problems with a new mustang they are going to send an engineer out to inspect unless it is something rediculous such as A/C or something to that affect. The mustangs are to reliable hence whenever there is a problem with them they send out an inspector to check it out so i would be very weary of them doing that because if they do that there crazy. If they do it make sure you have it in writing that they will back the factory warranty and make sure the owner or salesmanager and the service manager sign it.

Some dealerships will do blowers and keep the warranty. It's up to the dealer.
Do a search for threads on this subject. There must be hundreds...

If you buy the Saleen unit you will need a new program the saleen program is junk. You should be able to get what you need for $6500 or less. I paid $400 to get my unit installed and have had no problems. The exhaust is probably a waste of time but you may see 15hp. I also have an auto. I think you will be more happy with the roots style blower for daliy driving. I've had both and to me the roots is far superior for everday use (just my opinion)

That's RIGHT!!!

It's all up to the dealership...

My local SVT dealership will install a Saleen Supercharger and keep the 3 YR Factory Warranty on the car but I have to go back to that dealership only for warranty issues because "not all dealerships will honor the factory warranty when these types of mods are made"...

Well I ordered the car on Saturday. They said that 18" wheels and manual trans orders are backordered right now. Since I am buying an auto I ordered 17" wheels for now and I will replace with larger/wider rims after delivery. My dealer said they will honor the original warranty on the drivetrain and they will honor the extended warranty also, as long as they install the supercharger and I don't change pulleys. They said the extended warranty will even cover the supercharger too.
I am leaning towards Saleen or Ken Bell roots style blower. I saw on another thread a member took a stock GT and bolted on the KB with a nice safe 440 HP resulting. That is about where I want to be, as far as pushing horsepower.
The dealer also recommended Borland exhaust and Ford Racing 3.73 gear rather than the 4.10. I tend to agree because I want to drive this car every day when weather permits.
I am now looking gor a top-notch painter in the Chicago area to do a pair of rally stripes in a red metallic. Anyone who know a good painter please email me at toycannons@comcast.net
I was considering a BMW M3 before I decided on the GT. I will be able to do all these engine mods, custome paint and wheels and still come in for less than the sticker on a bare M3 convertible. So by April I expect to be driving this mustang!
